Detailed Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi

Meet upon arrival, our guide and driver will be waiting for you, holding a sign with your name on it. He will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 2: Hanoi

Today is a free day.

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a charming city with its tree-lined streets, scenic lakes and vibrant Old Quarter. You can explore the city our your own. Don't miss the museum and mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh , the founding father of modern era Vietnam. Also highly recommended is a very early rise to visit the Hoan Kiem Lake which is the centre of sports and workout every morning.

Day 3: Hanoi

Today is a free day.

Today you can go on a bike trip in the scenic countryside of Hanoi or go on a day excursion to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc, the "dry Halong Bay", or to the Perfume Pagoda. Hanoi has some excellent museums such as the Ethnology Museum and the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum.

Day 4: Hanoi - Halong Bay

You will be picked up by guide and shared bus at your hotel for the join-in trip to Halong Bay. On the way to Halong city, we enjoy the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life. Embark on Halong Phoenix Cruiser for welcome drink followed by a cruise briefing and safety instructions. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch while our cruiser heads to the bay passing the beautiful limestone seascape.

 

In this afternoon, you will visit Sung Sot cave, one of the most amazing caves in Halong Bay. The two chambers that form this amazing grotto are decorated with thousands of spectacular stalactite and stalagmite forms, enjoy kayaking (weather permitted) with guideline around the fishing village then return to the vessel for free time at your leisure. Fresh fruit platter will be served on the sundeck. Halong Phoenix cruises through the Bay to its overnight anchorage near Luon Cave

 

Cooking demonstration and discover the mystic recipes of the Vietnamese cuisine. Seafood set-dinner on board

Day 5: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue

A new day has come with beautiful sunrise view from your cabin. We will have breakfast while complimentary tea & coffee are served. Continue trip by tender to Ti Top Island for swimming or climb up to the top to see the outstanding scenery of the bay. Return to Phoenix Cruiser. The vessel cruises leisurely back to harbor. Lunch is served on board. Disembark and drive back to Hanoi. Drop off at your hotel. At the hotel you can pick up your luggage. Our car will be waiting for you to transfer you to the airport.

 

Fly from Hanoi to Hue on Vietnam Airlines.  **not included**

Day 6: Hue

Today is a free day.

Established as the capital of unified Viet Nam in 1802, Hué was not only the political but also the cultural and religious centre under the Nguyen dynasty until 1945. Hue was declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 1993. You can explore the Citadel of Hue by bike or book a boat trip on the Perfume River to visit the Tien Mu Pagoda and the tombs of the Nguyen Emperors in the vicinity of Hue.

Day 7: Hue - Danang - Hoi An

After breakfast your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel. Drive to Hoi An via Danang. Visit Marble Mountains and the famous Cham Museum in Danang. This museum displays artifacts from the culture of Champa. We continue our drive to Hoi An.

Drive to Hoi An over the Hai Van Pass from where you have fantastic views over the South China Sea.

Day 8: Hoi An

Today is a free day.

Hoi An, formerly known as Faifo, is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Hoi An has been declared a  UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. The town is located along the Thu Bon River, 30 km south of Danang.

You can explore the old streets of Hoi An on your own today.

After breakfast your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel. Then, transfer from Hoi An to Danang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Today is a free day. You can explore this exciting on your own or go on a daytour during which you will visit the highlights of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. The city has some interesting colonial buildings such as the old post office and the cathedral. Cholon, the Chinese quarter, has some stunning Buddhist pagodas and a very interesting market.

You will be picked up the hotel by our shuttle bus and transferred to Cai Be where you two day cruise through the Mekong Delta will start. The Mekong Delta is a major rice producing area. This must be one of the most fascinating riverine deltas in the world. The Mekong splits into nine major arteries. A vast network of rivers and waterways with thousands of ships of all sizes plowing the waters give the Mekong Delta a very special atmosphere.

Board the Mekong Eyes. 

 

Enjoy a welcome drink and get comfortable in your cabin which offer a great view through the panoramic windows. As lunch is served the Mekong Eyes will start cruising towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. 

Watch the flow of daily life in the Mekong Delta. Numerous ships of size ply the rivers.

 

The boat heads to Cai Nhum, a small town on the banks of the river Mang Thit. Disembark for a pleasant walk through the village, the surrounding fruit orchards and rice fields.

 

Back on board, enjoy a drink at the bar or take a rest on the deck as the sun sets over the vast water landscape of the Delta. We continue to Tra On where the boat will anchor for the night. 

The day ends with a delicious on-board dinner.

Day 12: Cai Be - Cantho - Chau Doc

Wake up well rested for another wonderful day of sightseeing. We set off for a sunrise cruise while you can enjoy an early breakfast.

 

After breakfast we will board sampan boats to visit the Cai Rang floating market, one of the most lively floating markets of the Delta. There will be plenty of great  photo opportunities. Witness the fascinating scenes, the hustle and bustle of vendors and small boats laden with fruits. We will pull up to the merchants to have a chat. We will cruise through this wonderful waterworld to see local houses, verdant orchards and shipbuilding yards. The trip ends at Ninh Kieu pier in Can Tho.  Upon arrival, our driver will be waiting for you. He will transfer you to your hotel in Chau Doc.

Day 13: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh

Transfer to the Hang Chau pier on your own. The way to the pier is within walking distance.

Board the public boat to Phnom Penh by Hang Chau boat

 

You will cross the Cambodian-Vietnamese border along the way.

Continue to Phnom Penh.

Upon arrival, our guide and driver will be waiting for you.

He will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 14: Phnom Penh

Today is a free day. Phnom Penh is a very charming and interesting city. You can either book a city tour or explore on your own. Don't miss the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the Killing Fields and the former Khmer Rouge prison, Tuol Sleng. The city has much more to offer. Stroll along Sisowath Quay, visit the Russian market (or any other market...) and immerse yourself in the daily life of this exciting city. Highly recommended is a tour by cyclo, the bicycle taxi.

Day 15: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Drive to Kampong Thom. Make a brief stop at Skuon where fried spiders are being sold on the roadside. Before Kampong Thom we leave the main road.

 

The road to Sambor Prei Kuk is hobbly and unpaved. Sambor Prei Kuk was the capital of the Chenla Kingdom which predates Angkor by several centuries. The ruins are spread out over a vast distance. Sambor Prei Kuk gets very few visitors and you can enjoy the beautiful ruins in peace and quiet.

 

After your visit it's back to the main road and start the last leg to Siem Reap. Along the way you will stop briefly at Spean Praptos, a fantastic stone bridge from the Angkor period. The bridge is used only for pedestrians and two wheeled vehicles and stands as proof of the craftsmanship of the Khmers.

Day 16: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Today is a free day.

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.

They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has set up a wide-ranging program to safeguard this symbolic site and its surroundings.

Day 17: Siem Reap

Today is a free day.

You can go back to Angkor for a second visit or make a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest lake in Southeast Asia. It is also possible to go horse riding or cycling in the countryside. We also recommend a visit to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea, two remote complexes.

Day 18:
