Departing from Bangkok every Monday between 10 January and 17 April 2011 and 24 October to 27 December 2011, this tour will take in the major historical sites of Thailand: Sukhothai, Kampaeng Phet and Si Satchanalai. Along the way, learn about rural life in the rice-growing areas of Central Thailand and the Lanna culture of the North. Then embark on one of Southeast Asia's iconic travel experiences,  a two day river cruise along the mighty Mekong river.
The longboat stops at a remote riverside village where guests can witness local conditions, not much changed over the last few decades. The trip ends in Laung Prabang, but Khiri Naga offers a host of options starting her, to continue your trip through Asia.

This trip is designed for adventurous, hardy travelers, wanting to see more of Laos. Starting with an introduction to the famous Thai kitchen, then overnight train to Northern Thailand, we take you across the Mekong River, through the jungle-clad mountains of Northern Laos to Luang Nam Tha, on the border with China. Here you go an a hike through the Nam Ha Nature Reserve. 

 

The trip ends in Luang Prabang, one of the gems of Southeast Asia. Here you can visit Kuang Si waterfall where turquoise water on the limestone rock clatters down.
